Today I did it! I finally visited the New York Public Library to get my library card. It is strange that it has taken me this long. In the summer of 2013 I spent many days in the Riverside branch enjoying their air conditioning and wifi and yet I never took in a piece of mail to get my official library card. My procrastination has continued as I have used my Davis County Library card to get audio books and kindle books. I am excited that I now have even more options for books!

I have actually gotten several emails from the NYPL recently because library funds in New York have been cut by 20% in the last 10 years. So I bought an "Invest in Libraries" t-shirt and sent a letter to the mayor to encourage him to increase funding!

I am so happy for you Whittie Leigh. The feeling of having a library card is the best. We should all INVEST IN LIBRARIES and then use them. Woot! Woot! for Whittie!
